American As Our Hot Apple Pie Scent

Celebrating the 4th of July with the Hot Apple Pie Fragrance
Celebrating the 4th of July is as American as Hot Apple Pie – and, yes, that is July’s scent of the
month for July! After all, one can never go wrong with the Hot Apple Pie Scent that
combines sweet and buttery aromas with a slight hint of apple. But that isn’t the only tradition
in celebrating Independence Day – here are some other amazing things to look forward to this
weekend.

Parades
We cover land, sea, and air with our parades. All around the nation, streets are blocked off to
make way for parades as people set up chairs early in the morning to get a front-row seat to
lively bands and glittering floats. On lakes and oceans, boats are decked out in lights and red,
white, and blue as people drop anchor to watch the play of fireworks that light up the night sky
and reflect in sparkles over the water. Even the air gets streaked with our patriotic colors as
jets colored smoke behind them. It’s a day to celebrate and we definitely go all out!

Fireworks
One thing that can be guaranteed every year is that as soon as dusk begins to settle, the pop
and crack of fireworks will resonate through neighborhoods everywhere as the sky flashes and
ignites with dazzling colors. Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of sitting in the
open bed of a truck on a humid summer night and watching not only the fireworks set off in
front of me, but also the ones being lit up all through the neighborhood.
Fireworks are a tradition that dates back to July 4, 1777, when the first celebration of
Independence Day took place in Philadelphia with cannons fired 13 times and 13 fireworks set
off to honor the 13 colonies.

Firework fun fact: of all the colors the light up the night sky in a sparkling array of pyrotechnics,
blue is the hardest to create.

Patriotic Colors
Red. White. Blue. These colors don’t run and they always show themselves in abundance on 4th
of July celebrations. Flags wave over lawns, plastic banners ripple and flap in the breeze and we
all deck ourselves out. From nail art to hats, bows, shirts, and everything in between, we are a
nation that likes to make our pride known in these lovely patriotic colors. Even the manliest
man’s man will generally at least wear a red or blue shirt for the occasion.

Quirky Fun
Every year in Coney Island, Nathan’s Hot Dogs hosts their famous hot dog eating contest. One
year, a winner managed to eat 75 hot dogs (including the buns) in ten minutes! But Coney
Island isn’t the only place to find some quirky fun for the holiday. In Bar Harbor, Maine, there is
a lobster race where you can bet on your winning lobster and cheer it to victory. And in Ocean
Beach, California, there is a massive marshmallow fight.

Outdoor Barbeques
We don’t like to do things small here in America, so when we fire up our grills to sear some
burgers and hot dogs, we do it with propane-powered grills with double/triple stacked grates
and all the latest gadgets. There are mini pools and super soakers for the kids, tables filled with
bowls of potato salad and watermelon cut into stars amid a sea of blueberries. And then there’s
the dessert table laden with cakes, cookies, and cupcakes, all dyed in colors that will probably
stay with you a little longer than you may like – and, of course, apple pie.

There is nothing better than the smell of an apple pie baking in the oven, which is why the Hot
Apple Pie Scent is such a special one for the 4th of July. The buttery aroma of a flaky crust
and sweetness of cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple will have all your guests sniffing the air and
looking forward to your barbeque this year.

From the Aroma Retail family to yours, have a happy and safe 4th of July!
