The scent behind the resort
Walk into the Bellagio, the Wynn, the MGM Grand, or almost any iconic resort on the Las Vegas
Strip — and you’ll smell something that stops you. Something that makes you feel something.
Something that makes you want to stay.
That scent was created by Jim Reding, our CEO. Over the years, Jim developed most of the
custom signature scents used by the resorts in Las Vegas and at iconic hotel chains across the
world. The fragrance you experienced in those lobbies — that wasn’t a coincidence. It was craft.
Aroma Retail was built on a simple idea: why should that experience belong only to five-star
hotels?
Our Story
In January 2017, Cristina Reding sat at her kitchen counter with a candle-making kit she’d just
received and poured her first hand-crafted scented candle.
Cristina’s path to that kitchen counter was anything but ordinary. She grew up in Romania,
toured the world as a professional ballet dancer, climbed the corporate ladder at Bank of
America, earned a PhD in Special Education, and lectures at UNLV. She had the vision, the
discipline, and the drive — and she had Jim’s expertise.
Together, they set out to make world-class environmental scenting accessible to everyone —
for your home, your business, your brand — without long-term contracts, without toxic
ingredients, and without compromise.
Where we are today
What started on a kitchen counter is now a 13,000 square-foot
We’re a team of 25. We blend and produce every fragrance oil, scent machine, candle, and room spray ourselves — in-house, in Las Vegas. We ship to customers around the world every single day.
And at our Smelly Bar, open every weekday, you can walk in and smell our entire library of over 100 scents in person. Because no website can replace your nose.
What makes us different
Our fragrances are pure-grade and free of synthetic toxins and volatile organic compounds. That means they’re safe to diffuse in public spaces, safe for pets, and safe for people with sensitivities — with no allergic reactions.
Every formulation is compliant with the EPA, CARB (California Air Resources Board), and IFRA (International Fragrance Association). No phthalates. No allergens as defined by Annex III of the European Cosmetics Regulation.
We’re a women-owned, Las Vegas-based small business. We don’t require contracts. We don’t do subscriptions you can’t cancel. We believe you should be able to get the quality the world’s best resorts enjoy — on your terms.
