Scent Machine 101 User Guide

App Versions - Which One Should You Use?

Currently, there are two versions of the Aroma Retail mobile app available in the App Store and Google Play:

Aroma Retail – This is our New App, for all machines. Please use this version to connect and control your scent machines. Download the new app here:

Aroma Retail (Legacy) – If you have purchased before 8/6/25, please login to the Aroma Retail (Legacy) app for firmware updates before going to the new app.

 

Signing Up/Logging in

 

Create your account on the Aroma Retail App

 

On the login screen you will be able to sign in to your existing account or create an account. You will also be able to reset your password if needed.
Please note the password requirement is: 
(1) 8 characters long, and include
(2) Upper and lowercase letter
(3) Number
(4) Special character

 

Once you are logged in you will now be able to connect or manage a Scent Machine. 

 

Connecting The Scent Machine 101 (Home Unit)

Once you've tapped "Add a Device" you will be able to select the Home Unit. Follow the prompts. You should then see this screen:

Follow the instructions on screen and make sure your Home Unit is plugged in and upright. Once the screen on the Home Unit says "Ready for Pair" tap next in your app and it will start to search for the Home Unit device (note: make sure your blue tooth/location is on). 

Once The diffuser is connected, you will then be prompted to select your Wi-Fi network. Use the same network Wi-Fi that your phone is currently connected to. You will then be prompted for your Wi-Fi's password in app. Enter this and allow the device to connect to the Wi-FI network. 

Once successfully connected, you can then navigate to the home screen by tapping "Devices" on the bottom of your app screen. Here you will be able to view all paired devices. 

If you experience any issues, please reset the diffuser and make sure you follow the steps bellow and in app. 

 

 

 

Diffusion Scheduling:

 

 The Scent Machine Home Unit

Only one event is needed to run the machine, but multiple can be edited to account for different schedules. The toggles on this page turn the Events on/off.

Clicking on a single event will bring you to a detailed edit page. It's easily manageable, all you need to do are follow 3 steps:

1. Select your fragrance intensity.
2. Choose the days you will run this event on.
3. Enter your start time and your end time.

That's it, you're done!

Manual Scheduling

Set up the machine: The initial setup can be done before using the mobile app.

1. Set the clock to the current time: 
   Press SET then UP/DOWN for hour (this is a 24-hour clock so 13:00 is 1:00PM). Press SET then UP/DOWN for minutes. Press SET then UP/DOWN for day of week-use UP to change, DOWN to move to next day. Press SET to confirm clock setting.
2. There are 5 events so you can have the machine come on at different times, at different intensities, on different days. NOTE: An Event cannot go around midnight, so make sure every stop time is no later than 23:59.
3. Set the first event: 
   Press SET then UP/DOWN for start hour.
   Press SET then UP/DOWN for start minute.
   Press SET then UP/DOWN for days of the week for this event-use UP to change between fast blinking (on) to slow blinking (off) then DOWN to move to next day.
   Press MODE then UP/DOWN to set the hour the machine stops for the days of this first event…
   Press SET then UP/DOWN for stop minute.
   Press MODE then UP/DOWN for the percentage of intensity. TIP: start at 20%.
   Repeat this for the other four events or leave these blank if you just need one event.
   Put in the oil: Keep canister upright at all times - it will spill!

• Open the oil hatch on the bottom of the machine and pull out the fragrance oil cartridge by the metal ring - do not twist, it pulls straight out.
• Unscrew the diffuser cap from the oil cartridge and pour the fragrance oil from the white bottle into the blue cartridge.
• Screw the black diffuser cap back on.
• Align the diffuser cap so that the two inlet/outlets are lined up facing the front of the machine.
• Push straight up until you feel it seat into the machine. This just pops in place - no turning.

• Close the oil hatch.
